Effective Stress
Effective stress diagrams of soil profiles are drawn. Effective stresses are used in the bearing capacity of superficial and deep foundations, consolidation settlement calculations, and liquefaction analyses. With the effective stress diagrams drawn, the effective Stress values are taken from these diagrams.
Manual Solution
In the multilayered soil profile shown in Problem 2, there is artesian pressure in the last layer.
With the solution, total stress, pore water pressure and effective stress diagrams were drawn.
Solution with SETAF
The soil profile was defined with SETAF and stress graphs were taken. Artesian pressure in the last layer is defined in the layer properties
Definition of artesian pressure
Manual Solution
In the multi-layered soil profile shown in Problem 3, capillarity is taken into account in the MH layer when it is in YASS II position.
Solution with SETAF
In Problem 3, when YASS was in I position, total stress, pore water pressure and effective diagrams were taken with SETAF.
In Problem 3, effective stress at point C in YASS I position
In Problem 3, effective stress at point B in YASS I position
In Problem 3, when YASS was in II position, total stress, pore water pressure and effective diagrams were taken with SETAF.
Defining capillarity in the MH layer
In Problem 3, effective stress at point C in YASS II position
In Problem 3, effective stress at point C in YASS II position
